Vehicle Description

2016 Chevrolet Express 4.8L V8

Built for serious work and everyday reliability, this 2016 Chevrolet Express with the 4.8 litre V8 and standard wheelbase delivers proven V8 power, generous cargo space, and straightforward mechanics for business owners and tradespeople across Ontario.

Proven 4.8L V8 powertrain

The 2016 Express 2500 and 3500 models come standard with a 4.8 litre Vortec V8 producing 285 horsepower and 295 lb ft of torque, paired with a heavy duty six speed automatic transmission and available rear wheel drive or all wheel drive configurations. This flex fuel capable engine runs on regular unleaded or E85, giving you flexibility at the pump while maintaining strong towing and payload capacity for equipment, trailers, and tools. EPA fuel economy estimates sit around 11 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway for the 4.8L V8, which translates roughly to the mid teens in L per 100 km for typical Canadian mixed driving.

Standard wheelbase practicality

This is the regular 135 inch wheelbase version, not the extended 155 inch long wheelbase model, making it easier to maneuver in city traffic, tight parking lots, and narrow laneways while still offering substantial interior volume. Overall length is about 224 inches, with a cargo area length behind the first row around 126 inches and up to roughly 240 to 270 cubic feet of cargo volume depending on passenger or cargo configuration. The Express features a low step in height, wide side and rear doors, and a flat load floor for easy loading of pallets, equipment cases, and bulky items, while the robust suspension and available trailering package support confident towing up to around 9000 to 10 000 pounds when properly equipped.

Work ready features and safety

Inside you get a durable vinyl or cloth interior designed for heavy use, a simple and functional dash layout, power steering, power brakes with antilock braking system, traction control, and a full suite of airbags including frontal and side impact protection. Available options include cruise control, air conditioning, power windows and locks, a tilt steering wheel, and various upfitter provisions for shelving, partitions, and commercial equipment. The Express platform is widely supported across Canada with accessible parts, straightforward service intervals, and strong resale value among commercial buyers who value uptime and dependability.
